PIE Grants

Parent Initiatives in Education (PIE) Grants

By arrangement with the South Australian Minister for Education John Gardner, the Federation administers and manages annual PIE (Parent Initiatives in Education) grant projects in Catholic school communities across the state.

These small grants of up to $2,500 focus on one or more of the following areas:

  • Encouraging the greater participation of parents/carers who are not well represented in school (or preschool) decision-making processes
  • Increasing understanding of what and how children are learning, and how their school-based learning can be supported at home and through positive home – school relationships.
  • Collaborating with parents/carers in the development of community relationships and partnerships that will enhance students’ education opportunities and outcomes.

Applications for PIE grants usually open in September/October each year and close in late November, with relevant details communicated in our Term 3 newsletter and by email to Principals and Parent Leaders.

The Federation showcases PIE grant success stories and offers general information about the application process and guidelines at its annual parent and community forums.
